I think you guys are missing the point. The point is that Jubiloso is the idiot here. It takes time to get the family businesses and let alone a price hike on the craftable items, unless you're a scrapbanker. So of course it'll be more than 2 recs.
Family Business's are a scrap each. Nothing more. Sure it takes time to get them, but not that long. Patience is a virtue, and in time, this weapon will be worth a scrap on its own.
Ok, so lets just say for the sake of argument that Businesses are 2 scrap each due to price inflation. You invest 2 rec into weapons + the rec needed to craft and it costs 1 ref. Look at that! Its still 1 ref to craft and below his asking price.
Metroid is trying to capitalize on other trader's spreadsheet stupidity here.
Anyone that accepts weapons for a scrap is getting ripped off. Any normal weapon (other than new ones) is worth another weapon. Why would you pay two weapons for one if the odds of finding them are the same as the others?
Do you guys not understand supply and demand? The supply of these family businesses are probably wiped out by now due to the fact that everyone needs 3 of them to craft a Heatmaker. Of course the price would increase, you'd be lucky to get it for a scrap. If we were talking before these new items are released, sure, it's worth another weapon.
You don't seem to understand that hype quickly diminishes for new weapons. A smart trader would never buy these marked up weapons, it's a bad deal. Within about 2 weeks' time these items will deflate back to normal. The only people willing to buy ingredient weapons are either desperate or stupid.
At the time this was made it was a fair price. The whole 2 reclaimed price idea revolves around the idea that you can get family business for 1 scrap each. As anyone with a basic idea of economic ideas that when an event that sharply raises demand (release of a new weapon) of an object (family business) then the price goes up. It's simple supply demand. People like to bitch about how spreadsheet is outdated but it's an accurate reflection of what the price of a heatmaker is at this time. Fact of the matter is that family business isn't 1 scrap, it's more. This is a fair trade it's a high demand item in fairly short supply. Sure the demand will go down later and the supply go up, but currently it's a fair trade.
This is what tf2 looks like when the whole economy revolves around an outdated spreadsheet only one guy can change.
ReplyDeleteI don't really see whats wrong with this trade, yes he's going off spreadsheet but so what, at least he's being somewhat reasonable on the price
ReplyDeleteI don't think you understand the concept of basic price purchasing decisions.
DeleteHerp derp, maybe I should sell this thing anyone can craft for more than what they would need to make it!
DeleteGENIUS!
OMG CAPITALISM AT WORK FLAWLESS VICTORY

ReplyDeleteTrue, maybe Mr. Man should have posted this in 2 weeks? But currently, this seems to be a "fair" price. Just overpriced a little.

ReplyDeleteExactly my point, now all these naysayers, take a class in economics and GET OFF MY LAWN.
DeleteIs that right?
ReplyDeleteStop trying to be a smart alec when you know you're wrong. I think you should just hand this domain over to someone who knows what they're doing.
ReplyDeleteYou know, it's funny. I often see 7 Metroid on Valve servers wearing his Holiday Headcase or HOUWAR and doing absolutely shit.
